About Katie

Playing an instrument strengthens a child’s neural processing; improving their reading ability and comprehension, increasing empathy, social and spatial awareness. Learning a musical instrument also teaches grit and discipline. These are but a few of the many lifelong benefits gained from learning how to play a musical instrument. That’s why I’m passionate about providing children the opportunity to learn an instrument. That’s where Katie Nemeth Music Lessons comes in.

The heart of my teaching style is through relationship. I want to know what interests your children, how they learn, and what their hope is for learning the instrument. I don't want to treat any two of my students the same. I also want to create a space to facilitate self-expression, as well as discipline.

The price of private music lessons and the challenge of commuting to an additional activity each week can pose the biggest barriers to children learning an instrument. In response, Katie Nemeth Music Lessons charges half the price of a standard private lesson. For an additional couple of dollars, you can have your child’s music lesson in your home.

Choose from one of three instruments; piano, recorder or ukulele. Or trial all three instruments as part of our Provare Package during your first term with Katie Nemeth Music Lessons without an increase in price. For the Provare Package, instruments will be provided for your child to trial during our lessons. You won’t have to buy an instrument or lesson book until after your child has trialed and chosen the instrument they would love to learn, at the end of our first term together.
